How to Turn GSC Impressions into Content Priorities
A practical framework for selecting pages and queries that can move fastest with fresh content.

Why this method works
Search Console impressions tell you where demand already exists. Instead of starting with random keyword lists, start with pages that already receive visibility but fail to capture clicks.
Step 1: Segment by ranking band
Group your queries into three buckets:
- Positions 1-5: optimize CTR and snippet quality.
- Positions 6-20: priority opportunities for new or expanded content.
- Positions 20+: candidate topics, but lower immediate upside.
Step 2: Score by upside
Use a simple score that combines impressions, CTR gap, and current ranking position. This lets you compare dozens of candidates quickly.
Step 3: Ship in small weekly batches
Pick 3-5 opportunities per week, publish consistently, and re-check performance every 14 days. The compounding effect comes from consistent iteration.
